My home on the web is live!

The idea to set up my website came to me while reading the book Show Your Work by Austin Kleon in a hotel room in Abuja during one of my business visits there. It was supposed to be my birthday gift to myself in November 2024, but, as with many things in life, it took longer than expected. Yet, here we are.

One thing I never lack – to the glory of God, is the gift of people. There’s always someone available when I need them, and this project was no exception. Many brilliant minds contributed, and while I appreciate everyone, I’d like to single out two people who went above and beyond:

First, my wife, who helped coordinate and lay the framework for everything. If you’ve noticed that I have been posting more frequently on LinkedIn, it’s because she also set up a media team for me. My brand image, including what I wear, now runs through her. Thank you my love. My 42 tubers of yam are working. Amen somebody!

Second, a very special acknowledgement to my good friend Coleman Ekene, who handled almost 90% of the website design as a gift. I was brainstorming ideas and sharing development invoices with him when he said, “I’ll run it for you, bro” What! Music to my ears (and savings for my pocket). I still owe you one, brother. Visca Barça!

To everyone else – Polycarp Yakoi, Emmanuel Bountiful, Lanre Akilu, Toyin Olasehinde, David Abayomi (For the midnight photoshoot), your contributions at various stages of the project are deeply appreciated.

We brought a photographer and make up artiste to the house at 12 midnight to take both our Christmas photos and pictures for the website on the same day

As Austin remarked in the book:

“… if you get one thing out of this book, make it this: Go register a domain name: buy www.insert-your-name-here.com. Carving out a space for yourself online, somewhere you can express yourself and share your work, is still one of the best possible investments you can make with your time.”

I challenge you to do the same. Build your own home on the web too.

So, ladies and gentlemen, I present my website – www.akanniisaac.com. check it out and let me know what you think.

The acorn that has been planted is on course to germinate into a mighty oak tree.

Cheers!
